Our internship opportunities

Our Amsterdam office offers 3 different internship opportunities to law students.

A student internship is the ideal professional orientation. As a student-trainee, you will share a room with an experienced associate and you will participate fully in our daily practice. This will give you a good idea of the nature and content of the work. Would you like to investigate whether the top of the international legal profession suits you by means of a student internship? Then this is your chance.

A number of our practice groups also offer you the opportunity to work as a working student. As a working student, you will work two or more days a week in a practice group. The activities vary enormously, you will be fully involved in the practice.

The Freshfields Connectstage is the opportunity for talented and ambitious law students to become acquainted with international legal practice. As a Connect intern you will spend six weeks at our office in Amsterdam and four weeks at one of our offices abroad. The Connect internship is tailor-made. This way you will experience what it is like to work for an office that belongs to the international top.

Student internships

Student internships

During the year there are places available for student-internship trainees in all practice groups. Your internship lasts two months.

No student internship is the same. Just like no student-trainee is the same. What your internship looks like depends on various factors, such as the practice group where you are doing your internship, the things that are going on at the time of your student internship and of course what you make of it. During your internship, we strive to introduce you to our office, our people and the work we do.
As a student-trainee you will be directly involved in daily practice. This means that you prepare advises, procedural documents, notes and correspondence. You will also take part in the internal training activities and, when the opportunity arises, you will go along to meetings and sessions. Of course, as a student-trainee you are also welcome to participate in all social activities, such as get-togethers and practice group or office outings, and you can participate in sporting activities, such as the hockey competition and the football competition.
Do you have questions about the the student internship or do you want to know more about the possibilities are in the practice group of your preference? Please contact us.
